Reaching For A New Dream

Dreams are the fuel that helps us get started, the destination our hearts long for. Dreams give us direction and purpose for every waking moment.

And then one day, you wake up to the reality of the fulfillment of that dream. You’ve made it! You’ve reached your goals and aspirations. I am at the point in my life where my dreams have become a reality.

From a young age, I  dreamed of a normal life and nothing too extravagant. I just dreamed of having a happy family and a successful career. I settled and start to build my own family quite late, already in my early 30’s. I have been blessed with two sons and a loving husband. As a mother, I wanted to ensure that I can provide them with a comfortable life and with the best education possible.

In my life’s journey, I had to juggle many roles from being a perfect mother, a dedicated employee, and an ideal wife. I did not expect a smooth and perfect voyage. I went through tough times and encountered unexpected trials – and that’s life!

Moving on, I have slowly reached my dreams. Both of my sons have graduated lately. Graduation is a huge milestone in a young adult’s life and an achievement for me as a parent. Another important milestone in my life is retiring from the corporate world in a company that I loved for 35 years. It was a difficult time because this is the world I have known and love for a long time.

And then I thought, what’s next for me? What lies ahead after reaching your dreams?

Dream a new dream.

1. Going Outside My Comfort Zone

Aspiring and struggling to learn new skills, I hope to cope up with this high tech and in-demand field. My new goal is to try my luck in the world of Virtual Assistance. To achieve this, I’ve taken an online course for Virtual Assistants and I also had my TESDA Call Center Training last March. These have motivated and equipped me on my next journey.

2. Motherhood for Young Adults

I thought that after providing my children with the BEST education, my life as a mother would be easier and lighter. But it seems the saying that motherhood is a never-ending responsibility is what I have realized and proven right.  With all my guidance and support, wishing them success on their chosen careers that will bring them immense fulfillment and purpose.

Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead.” -Nelson Mandela

Each milestone is marked by a moment of pride and celebration. But it’s never too late to start a new journey. How about you? What do you think has been the biggest milestone in your personal growth? Once you reach your dreams, are you willing to dream a new dream?

Come journey with me as I reach my next milestone! 🙂
