Life of a Stay at Home Mom

“The time spent on family is not a sacrifice. You are living a life with choices; when you make the right ones, you have a good life.” ― Laura Schlessinger

My life has changed when I become a mom. It is a rewarding and challenging
experience for me. It is true that you’ll never know what it is to be a mother
until you become one.

When I got pregnant, I had to stay at home for a couple of weeks because I
was strictly on a bed rest. From then on, my husband and I have been talking
about the plan that I need to give up my full time job. At that time, I was not
fully convinced to leave my work because of financial concern.

Things changed when I gave birth to our son. I finally decided to resign
from my 8-years work to attend to my baby boy who needed me the most. I had to
give it up because our baby is our top priority.

January of this year, I became a full time mom to our son. It wasn’t really
easy at all but good thing I got help from my husband’s family for the first
few months.

After which, the succeeding months up to now, I had to do things on my own.

At first, it wasn’t easy at all to be a stay-at-home mom especially I had a
depression, but thankfully through my family’s support I surpass it.

To be honest, doing things alone is easy when my son is not yet walking and
all I need to do is breastfeed him whenever he is hungry. But things got a
little bit complicated when he started sitting, crawling, standing and walking.

But guess what? I made it all by myself. On weekends, husband has no work
and he helps me at home.

I realized that the struggles of being a mom never stops but every effort
and hard work is all worth it whenever I see my son growing strong, healthy and
smart. I always believe that we can make things possible and moms can do a lot
of roles for their family.

As a mom, I breastfeed my son and will do it until he wean himself. I bathe
him, prepare his meal, washed his clothes, sing with him, read him books, play
with him, and teach him a lots of things and many more.

As a wife, I do most of the house chores, washed clothes, pay bills and many
more.

Sometimes, I need to do all things while carrying my son if he doesn’t want
to be laid down on his crib.

Being a wife and mom may not be easy but definitely the most fulfilling job
one could ever ask for. I am glad that I can see my son milestones and would
not miss any of it. I will always be there for him, guide and mold him to be
the best version of himself.

I am proud of being a full time mom because it means that my family comes
first and I prioritize them. Spending time with our children is the greatest
gift we could give them. Children are only young once.

So for all the moms out there, you’re doing a great job and I salute you
all!
