Living in Another Country

Sa Vatican kung saan nakita ko ulit si Pope Francis for the second time, first time ko siyang makita noong nag misa siya sa Tacloban Airport way back January 17, 2014 after ng hagupit ng Supertyphoon Yolanda(Yolanda Survivor here!

Sunday Angelus

Kung may plano kayo na pumunta ng Vatican at gusto niyong maka-attend ng Wednesday Papal Audiences or any Papal Masses such as Christmas Eve or Easter Sunday, I suggest you must book your ticket 6 months advance. On Good Friday the Pope leads a procession of Via Crucis at Colosseum at 9 pm and NO TICKETS REQUIRED but expect a large crowd.

This is where the Pope held the Good Friday Mass and Via Crucis

Florence is a capital city in Tuscany region and is famous of its beautiful Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. The third largest church in the world after St. Peter’s in Rome and St. Paul’s in London, and was the largest church in Europe when it was completed in the 15th century.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

This church also is the third and last cathedral of Florence, it was dedicated to Santa Maria del Fiore( The Virgin of the Flower) in 1412. Every time we go to Florence and plan to visit the Dome or Duomo it is always raining hahaha di nakikisama ang panahon ang mahal panaman ng ticket (hahaha).

Assisi where St. Francis was born and buried, it is in the region of Umbria, province of Perugia, a hill town in central Itlay, its a 2 hours drive by car from Florence or Rome. The Basilica of St. Francis is the most famous and probably the most beautiful attraction in Assisi, you can also see his tomb there.

You can tour the city center in just one day. The best time to visit in Assisi during winter, fall or spring because on summer aside from very hot that’s also the season for peak pilgrim crowds. Wear a appropriate dress when entering the churches in Assisi, you can wear shirts that cover your shoulders and shorts that cover your knees.
