As this is my first blog post EVER, I will be sharing one of the “firsts” that I’ve experienced on one thing I am most passionate about, travelling!
Georgia is the first country I visited while working overseas. It is located at easternmost border of Europe and Western Asia, a former Soviet republic that’s home to Caucasus Mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. Famous for its sprawling cave monastery dating to the 12th century and good wine.
When my friends and I set foot on this unfamiliar place, we didn’t expect much. Just a simple holiday getaway but Georgia surprised us in many ways….
The trips to countryside, Sighnaghi and Kazbegi — our eyes feasted on the lushness of the landscapes, velvety green hills, pastures and meadows, mountain peaks wrinkled in snow, monasteries settled at mountain tops – heavenly beautiful.
The place significantly offers cultural, ethnic and religious diversity as famous tourist destinations include cathedrals, castles, museums and medieval fortresses.
Food is sooo great! Chuwadi -grilled-pork dipped in plum sauce, the best!, Katchapuri (salted-bread) and Khinkali (dumplings) are equally mouth-watering. Widely known for its wine, there is no better place for wine tasting than Georgia where people started turning grape juice into wine thousand years ago.
The graciousness and unfettered hospitality of the locals makes your travel even more memorable.
This is one Unforgettable trip.
