BAKING HABIT

Hi, I’m Vanie mom of 2 and baking is my stress reliver.

When I was a little girl I love to watch baking shows. I start making frozen desert like graham cake, mango graham. I also make pancake mix from the scratch.

Then my real baking journey begins when my husband and I move in our house. I asked my husband that I want to start my baking passion, so we buy stove with oven included.

At start I bake for my family consumption only. Then my friends tell me that they like my baking products, they gave me an idea of selling it.

My first product is cupcake making, then I tried making chocolate crinkles. Then I tried to make different kinds of cake like fondant cake, chiffon cake, braso de mercedez & a lot more.

Now baking is not just my stress reliver, it also gives me an extra income.

See below Home made Donut recipe :

All you need :

2 1/4 – 2 1/2 cups APL (all purpose flour)

1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp cut into small pieces

3 tablespoons granulated white sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk, heated to lukewarm

1 large egg

cheese (optional for flavoring only)

For frying

1-2cups cooking oil

Toppings

1/2-1 cup of white sugar

Procedure :

In a mixing bowl mix all together the all purpose flour, active yeast , unsalted butter, sugar , salt, milk, & egg.

Then transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead until the dough is no longer sticky and is smooth and elastic (about five minutes). Shape the dough into a ball and place in a large lightly greased bowl, turning once. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled ( 1-2 hours).

Then place the dough on a lightly floured surface, and gently punch the dough to release the air. With a lightly floured rolling pin, roll the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch or any shape you desire like.

Place the cut donut in a parchment paper and let it to rise again for about 30mins.

Heat your oil in a cooking pan and let it reach about 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) before placing the doughnuts. Remove the doughnut when it is already golden brown. Sprinkle it with white sugar.
