“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.”
1983, We met at the University of Santo Tomas, fresh from High School. Our course was B.S. Pharmacy. We have different dreams in life, different status in life, different goals in life but one thing we have in common is being a True Friend to each other. For more than Five years, the corridors of UST was our everyday boardwalk where we discuss our lessons, assignments, professors, classmates, food for lunch or snacks, and even our crushes. How we miss those years.
We’ve experienced so many challenges. A few of our friends transferred to other schools, some had to change course, there were rallies in 1986, and a few slip ups with our exams. But all in all, we overcome all of these obstacles. I remember when I had to be absent for my board exams review because I was sick then. My friends would go to our house and give me my reviewers. I was really fortunate for having them in my life.
After 31 years, we had our own families, we had our own businesses, we had our own careers, others have to go abroad. But still, we have each other. We really make it a point to meet each other when time permits. Help each other when there’s crisis in their life. And even when it’s too busy for some chitchat, a simple like or heart on our Facebook post is just a reminder that we Love each other.
Thank you my BFFs for all the Love, Memories, Laughter, and Care. We still have more years to capture. I Love you All!! Oh, this is my very first blog so I hope you’ll be proud of my work.
What Friendship Means
© Tracie Labauve
Friendship means being there just to be there.
Friendship means listening and not asking questions.
Friendship means lending your shoulder for someone to cry on.
Friendship means being comfortable around each other in silence.
Friendship means being able to tell each other anything and understanding without questions.
Friendship means being honest with each other no matter what the cost.
Friendship means staying up all night and talking about nothing.
Friendship means being able to say I love you!
Friendship means forgiving each other no matter what you have done.
Friendship means learning from each other’s mistakes.
Friendship means me and you.
This is the way I look at you, my friend, and I love you!
